This year’s U12 team are flying out to Biarritz in south western France on April 7th.

In keeping with Muskerry R.F.C.’s proud tradition of taking underage teams to France, this year’s U12 team are flying out to Biarritz in south western France on April 7th. The players have been training diligently under coaches Niall Coughlan and Eddie O’Callaghan in preparation for the trip and are in tip top condition for the challenge ahead.
The full tour party consists of 27 players and 28 adults and an action packed agenda has been put in place for the players that will no doubt give them lifelong memories. Muskerry play in a blitz on the morning of April 8th near Biarritz against two other sides: local team Soustons, and French super-power Racing 92 from Paris. On Saturday evening they will go to see a Top 14 game between Bayonne and Stade Francais.
Great credit must go to the players and their parents for completing a significant amount of fundraising such as a sponsored walk and table quiz which sees the cost of the trip being significantly reduced for the players. They have an excellent Tour Committee who put significant time into organising the fundraising events, travel arrangements and tour kit. As ever the team would not function without the dedication of the coaches and the support from our mini rugby officer Aedh McGinn.
The team’s tour kit was presented to the players in the Muskerry clubhouse by Munster and Ireland legend Donncha O'Callaghan and Muskerry R.F.C. president Stephen Griffin. Stephen closed the presentation by leading the players in a rendition of the "The Bould Thady Quill” to have them in fine voice for France.
Bon Voyage to all!
