Both teams produced a nail-biting encounter with points being scored right up until the final second of the game.
This game was a meeting of two complete different styles of rugby.
The Old Firm played a more direct game trying to out-muscle the visitors playing very square and narrow, whilst The Young Snakes tried to be more enterprising with an expansive game plan using the ball from touchline to touchline.
Mountain Ash had many chances to close the game out but Aberdare's resilient defence and ongoing belief that they could win the game paid off with a try right at the death to snatch a much deserved victory.
Aberdare fielded a very young team which clearly frustrated the home team with some grumbles that Aberdare fielded players that were 'too young' for youth rugby.
Too young some of them may seem but good enough they are!
