New Players Welcome
The 3rd XV was reformed in 2012 after more than 10 years in the wilderness.
The aim of the side is to act as a development and feeder team to the 1st and 2nd XV teams, with players being promoted up when showing a good attitude and level of skills. This allows young people to stay involved with the sport, who may not be ready for the full step up to senior rugby from youth level.
The 3rd XV squad trains both together with the 1st & 2nd XV and also on their own, with them having their own dedicated coaches as well. The 3rd XV train twice a week.
All players at any level are welcome to come and play. So if you are keen to further develop your rugby skills through a well balanced club in terms of the playing and social aspect of rugby, would like to get involved in the sport again after being away from it for several years, or are new to the game, then 'The Loons' are the team for you. The team also looks to accommodate some more experienced players who cannot commit to training full time, and can't always travel, but would still like a run out on a Saturday, providing invaluable experience and knowledge to the young lads.
