Start of the season 2018

The new season has started well for Abergavenny Bowls Club. It has been a busy and productive week. The season was opened by Chairman John Whomersley on Saturday 14th April with good attendance by club members. It was an opportunity for the members to try out their new sports tops which have been sponsored by Auberge Bar And restaurant.

The club held taster/ coaching sessions on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st and our five newly qualified coaches were on hand to provide support and advice to potential new members. The attendees were able to use the new equipment bought from sponsorship money from Christie’s Residential. We had an excellent turn out with thirteen new people attending these coaching sessions. The attendees had mixed experience and ability but all appeared to enjoy the sessions and a number of people have already signed up for membership. There was a sense of excitement, enthusiasm and fun over these two sessions and we hope to build on this over the season.
