At a civic reception at the Town Hall Council Offices the Abergavenny Bowls Club was presented with a special plaque by the Mayor of Abergavenny.

Members of our bowls club were invited to the Civic Reception on 3rd March which was held at the Town Council Offices. There, the Mayor of the town thanked the club for its very long history and its contribution to the life and opportunities it gives to the town's people. The mayor, with his councillor colleagues, presented a plaque to be displayed at the club house.
Our current members can enjoy a comfortable club house with social facilities because of the efforts and hard work of the members who have joined in over the many years.
There is a certificate on display near the bar which recognises Ieuan for his huge contribution. The hut is another gift to the club from a member. Improvements to the playing green are on going led by our committee.
The Playing members today, said the Mayor, include men and women and they can be proud of the achievements of Gethin and Matthew and families for bringing a Welsh Championship to Abergavenny.
