Win on two rinks .... overall a loss at Caldicot in MBA

Fortunes shone for Gethin and Skip Anthony as they led the two winning rinks at Caldicot . Ladies, however , were rained off.
Press report digest: The victorious rinks for Abergavenny were those of Gethin and Anthony.
After 9 ends Gethin had built a lead of 14 shots. Caldicot reduced this to 5 shots in the mid game to see the Abergavenny establish a strong finish to win 20 shots to 14 shots.
A concentrated surge in the final hour gave Anthony's rink a fine win 19 shots to 16 shots having been 2 shots down with six ends to play.
Matthew and John could not recover from a poor start as they met the strength of Caldicot rinks who went on to win 25 shots to 18 ; 25 shots to 10.
Our Ladies game against Pontyfelin was cancelled .
