Abergavenny have performed well since the Christmas break, coming back from a
narrow defeat against league leaders Swansea Bay to
draw with Gwent A, knocking them off their 2nd place position in the table. The players then defied the blizzard the following week to beat the gwent B side
2 goals to 1 in a snowy friendly fixture. The relentless blue and gold side then came back from a 3 goal deficit to beat Bridgend 5-3 in an
8 goal epic last week.
The work rate at training has increased and Abergavenny will look towards this week’s fixture vs. Aberystwyth as an opportunity to pick up some further points.
Aberystwyth are only 5 points ahead of Abergavenny in the
Davis Wood Hockey League and tomorrow brings an opportunity to narrow the gap.
The team bus departs Abergavenny at 10:30 on Saturday morning. On their return, Abergavenny hope to celebrate their efforts with a mixed club social in all the local bars throughout Abergavenny Town Centre.
The ladies will then look to recover from a big night out when
Bethan Cook's Blue and Gold army take on local Rivals Gwent in a Sunday Afternoon friendly. For those that would like to support, the ladies pushback takes place at 2:00pm at the
'Old Hereford Road' fortress.
