Community Links
The Youth Section of the club is looking to create links with local community schools and provide sessions for children aged 7-11. There are a cluster of 6 primary schools currently within Abertillery which support and feed the Local Comprehensive. As a cricket club we look to get out qualified coaches into the primary schools and promote participation and encourage children to become members of our club.
Also a cricket session through the 5x60 programme within the Comprehensive is looking to be created to help with the transition from primary to secondary. We currently hold links with a number of primary schools but are looking to target all six with the coaching staff we have.
Below is a copy of the document 'Building Partnerships between Cricket Clubs and the Community' which is a template for our partnerhsip work which we use for creating links with the cluster of primary schools.
