Acklam's win means they move up to joint second in the league.

The game was played in dry conditions but the strong wind had a bearing on the game which Acklam coped with very well. Acklam did play some attractive rugby against a very robust Hartlepool team who competed strongly throughout the game. Acklam played 20 minutes with 14 men which cost them two tries during the sin bin period. The home team were some what unlucky but with more precision could of scored another four tries, but slight forward passes and last pass knock ons cost those extra points.

Andy Dunn short game time was highlighted with a try after 5 minutes with some good back play, but he then had to leave the field with a hamstring injury. In the 22 minute James Ffitch scored a try and once again this was a result of some good handling. In the 27 minute Acklam received a yellow card and Hartlepool immediately scored a try from a 5m line out. Just before half time Danny Ashton kicked a penalty. H.T. 13-5.

Danny Ashton scored a try in the 43 minute after Acklam won a scrum 22 meters out from the visitors line. In the 49 minute Chris Walker stormed over for the bonus try but he hurt himself in the process which made him less effective in the remaining game time. Once again in the 55 minute Acklam received their second sin bin and Hartlepool immediately helped themselves to another try. Marcus Sudron scored a try in the 63 minute followed by a try by Hartlepool winger in the 70 minute which was sheer pace. Danny Ashton who had controlled the game, finished the game off with a penalty in the 72 minute.

Acklam showed some good basic rugby, playing for territory and attacking the visitors with good vision and pace. Andy Cruickshank had his first game of the season and he reminded everyone what a good rugby player he is.
