Acklam controlled the game from start to finish.

Talbot Park pitch was in excellent condition with the sun shining as Acklam hosted Ashington in this league encounter.
The gulf between the two teams was evident from the start with both teams sitting at opposite ends of the table, it was a simple case of how many points Acklam would accumulate. Acklam played with considerable flair, moving the ball at every opportunity, if their accuracy had been better the scoreline would of been much greater.

Acklam scored six tries in the 1st half through Andrew Dalton x2, Karl Murray, Chris Walker X2 and finally Liam Corcohran. H.T. 38-0.

In the second half they scored five tries through Albert Bengo, Marcus Sudron, james Ffitch, Pedro Roberts and John Morgan.

Marcus Sudron played well at 10 in place of the unavailable Danny Ashton, his kicking from hand was very good. James Ffitch was never very far from the ball throughout the game, his support play was excellent. Young Danny Moss had an impressive game alongside Tim Savage in the second row but the MofM goes to hooker Karl Murray.

An interesting coincidence was that the Talbots beat Darlington 2nd team by the same margin of 67-0. This was a very convincing performance by the Acklam 2nd string who are top of the Tees Valley Merit League.
