Scintillating team performance by Acklam as they notch up ten tries.

Acklam truely reversed the result from the first encounter of the season and proved what a freak performance they had away to the visitors. Acklam started slowly with two penalty conversions in the first 8 minutes and then they took until the 13th minute to score the first of their ten tries. This was a real scintillating performance by the team as they went into overdrive and produced some great rugby.

Acklam’s first try was scored by winger Adam Harrison after the ball was won from the line out, a great drive by Tim Savage then the backs put the ball wide to open the try scoring. Acklam’s next two tries came from the restarts when on both occasions the ball went wide for Deanno for the first and then Adam getting his second try of the game. The bonus try came after 23 minutes when Tim Savage scored from a scrum which was a No. 8 pick up by John Morgan and the ball being recycled. Acklam went down to 14 men but this did not prevent Deanno scoring his second try which was followed by Pedro Roberts on the wing from a ball won at the scrum.
H.T. 46 points v 3 points.

Acklam's second half performance was very good as they maintained the pressure on the visitors. Tries came from Dean Roberts (hatrick), Danny Moss, Paul (Pedro) Roberts scored his second try and prop Ben Pearson scored the team’s final try. Danny Ashton place kicking was outstanding as he converted 11 of his 12 attempts at goal in almost gale force wind. Outstanding team performance, tremendous performances from Bobo, PaddyO’Brian just to mention two players. John Morgan had a very clever game as he varied his play throughout the game, one of his best performances.

Two week break before the all important game at Ponteland; if the team play with the confidence and commitment they showed today, the game will be wide open.
