Talbot Park was bathed in glorious sunshine as Acklam played some scintalating rugby to score 15 tries in their last home game of the season.

The pitch was in excellent condition and this allowed Acklam to produce a magnificent performance in front of a large home crowd. Pre match entertainment was seeing the Under 9's play a game and what was evident is that we have some promising young athletes in the making. These young players formed a Guard of Honour for the 1st team players as they entered the pitch.

The first 5 minutes of the game was very competitive but there after it was one way traffic to the Ryton try line. Dean Roberts opened the scoring in the 9th minute when from a line out the ball went across the back line for the opening try. In the 15th minute Josh Abraham scored under the post with a 35 meter run after some good open play. From the restart some clever interplay by Dean Roberts and Marcus Sudron allowed Len Hogg to score from 50 meters out. The bonus point try came in the 20th minute after some clever interplay by Patrick O'Brien and Danny Ashton in the visitors 22 meter area resulted in young Cameron Bottomley scoring under the post. In the 23rd minute some individual and illusive running by Dean Roberts resulted in Dean scoring from 50 meters out. Immediately came the next try as Andrew Dalton who had another magnificent game scored after some great team interplay. The procession continued, in the 34th minute Josh Abraham ran in a 50 meter try after the ball was turned over in the ruck. From the restart Dean Roberts found acres of space and ran in another 50 meter try. On half time Ricky Scott introduced himself to the game when he scored a try. H.T 59-0

The second half started where the first half ended, Len Hogg scoring once again after some great team support play. In the 50th minute Acklam mishandled the ball which resulted in Ryton picking up and scoring. This period of the game Acklam had taken their foot off the pedal and made some elementary mistakes. In the 54th minute normal service resumed as Marcus Sudron made a decisive break which allowed Len Hogg to score his hatrick. In the 70th minute a clean break and good interplay by Danny Ashton and Marcus Sudron allowed Brad Gator to score. In the 73rd minute Chris Mallam was allowed to show his pace as he outstripped the tired Ryton defence from the halfway line. Brad Gator's pace saw him score his second try under the posts. The final score came in the 77th minute when Dean Roberts scored his forth try from 50 meters out. F.T. 99-7

Acklam were presented with the Durham and Nortumberland Division 2 Cup by Bill Scott who represented the North of England League Committee.
