All of Acklam's Junior teams in action to-day.

Acklam Under 17's on tour, played Wigton on Friday and Kirby Lonsdale to-day.

Acklam Under 15's 27 points v Stockton Under 15's 7 points

Acklam played host to a very sociable Stockton. The game got underway with a chilling wind blowing and fine rain falling that brought challenges to both teams.
With the first 15 minutes played in the centre of the pitch with both teams showing a good desire to gain yardage.
Acklam eventually broke the deadlock with a good passing move across the back row, creating some space for Declan Winward to blast his way down the wing and touch the ball down in the corner.
Acklam’s front row was now in the ascendancy and forcing their way up towards the Stockton 22, Lewis Edwards , peeled off from the back of a maul and dismissed the opposing tackle with great determination and crossed the line to give Acklam a 10 point lead at halftime.
The second half got underway and the familiar pattern of good competitive rugby took place in the middle of the ground with both teams finding it difficult to dominate.
Good yards are made by a Scott Hamilton powerful run, from the ruck Tom Hughes gathered the ball and danced his way through the Stockton defence to give Acklam the first points of the second half.
Along period of competitiveness was forthcoming with both teams making little headway into the opposite half. Acklam won a good line out and made a good territorial advance, Max Weston took the ball into a ruck and again somehow, Lewis Edwards popped up with the ball, running from the 22 yard line nothing was going to stop him crossing the try line.
Acklam’s advantage of having fresh legs were now showing dividends, with regular visits to Stockton’s 22, Declan again collected the ball and setoff on one of his scorching runs, crossing the try line in the corner and having the foresight to loop round and place the ball down right between the posts.
With only a few minutes remaining Stockton got their just rewards, a good chase down from the kick-off, Acklam went backwards and got caught out with some indifferent defending.
The resulting conversion was kicked and that ended the game.
Acklam’s MOM was Scott Hamilton who made excellent yardage throughout the game.

Stockton Under 14's 34 points v Acklam Under 14's 0 points

Acklam had 23 players to-day, with 21 fit and available to play.
A very disappointing first half but the second half performance was much better. Four tries in the first half resulted from Stockton out rucking Acklam which allowed their backs plenty of space to run into and score. The second half Acklam competed much better when they played up the slope. Acklam had several chances to score but good Stockton defence kept them out. Stockton second try was on the final whistle.
Acklam have several new players in their squad who are learning quickly but need more time to understand their positional play.
