Changes to Club Membership _ Age grade players & Parents

Dear Parents & Guardians

I write to provide you with information on Club subscriptions and hopefully explain why changes have had to be made. Club membership or‘subs’ are a contribution towards the playing expenses and the upkeep of the facility – the remainder of the expense has been covered by the club which operates as a business to support the rest. For some time, the gap between the subsidy from the memberships and the amount paid to cover expenses has been growing.

The subscription is used not only used to feed both home and away players every week but also many other items. An example of the benefits are -

Players RFU Insurance
Access to Club retained Physiotherapist
First aid training and equipment
Payment of Club Staff (Training nights and Match Day)
Laundry
Floodlighting
Coaches Training & Licensing
Training Equipment
Referees
Contribution towards end of season celebrations

Breaking the fee down it equates to - £30 for 32 weeks of the playing season = 94p per week. Which means Junior Rugby is currently running at a deficit.
As you can see we are asking the money to go an awful long way.

Therefore the Club has decided to make the following changes.

Subscription charges for the 2018/19 will be as follows –

£80 for the First child. * This comprises £40 playing subscription and £40 for membership of the club for two adults. (This membership does not carry voting rights) This come with the additional benefit of discounted beverages at the bar for Adults along with being able to apply for international tickets through the club.

£40 for each subsequent child.

(* First Child of Senior playing members £40 – no further adult membership required.)

By way of placing our fees in context I have provided a list of Fees with other clubs in our region. (This information is readily available on their websites.) And as always, if you find there is some difficulty in paying these new Fees please contact me directly. We can then discuss how best the club can help you.

There will be arrangements made to be able to pay this over several payments for those who would find this helpful. Details on this to follow.

I would like to thank you for your ongoing support. In addition to this there are a number of specific items we would like to acquire for our age grade players, we will be following up early in the season with a variety of fundraising activities towards this.

I look forward to seeing you all and wish you success in the coming season! #UTA
