Adwalton Cricket Club is to host a day of festivities this Sunday in aid of the Candlelighters Charity and in memory of Adele Barnes.
The charity was set up 40 years ago by the parents of children suffering from cancer whose lives have been turned upside down by this awful disease. It is still going strong and supporting the people who understand the trauma and turmoil that a cancer diagnosis can cause.
This year the club have excelled themselves in providing a day of sport, fun and entertainment. The day begins at 11am on Drighlington Moor where Drighlington Adwalton FC will face local rivals Malt Shovel.
From 1pm the party moves up to Adwalton CC where live music will be provided by Eight Track Heroes, Nigel Firth and the clubs very own superstar JP!
Food will be provided with a trademark 'Bugsy BBQ' as a raffle with some superb prizes will be drawn.
Then the highlight of the evening, an auction of cricket, football and rugby memorabilia will hopefully be embraced by all those attending to raise money for a very worthy cause.
All are welcome and donations to the charity are greatfully received at the club.
Why not have an enjoyable day out, embrace your local club and give to a hell of a cause and a bit more besides!
