Long Lee CC are to provide the first challenge of the season for the Second XI as a pre-season friendly is confirmed for 9th April.
This gives an opportunity for players to play a match the week prior to the start of the Central Yorkshire Cricket League season which begins on April 16th.
The 1pm start time should allow for a 45over match assuming the early spring weather is kind.
The Keighley based side, Long Lee CC, play in the Craven & District League, a league which also includes former Bradford Central sides Eldwick & Gilstead and Sandy Lane.
An agricultural infection meant there was no chance of pre-season matches being played at home so although a bit of a trek from Adwalton, Long Lee CC were kind enough to offer to host, which was the stumbling block with a number of clubs nearer the area.
Looking to put out a mixture of first and second XI players Long Lee CC should provide a good run out for Adwalton. "I think its important that we approach the first league game having brushed off the cobwebs and come out of the gate fighting. Every game is important and I don't want to spend the first few weeks getting back into it", commented Second Team skipper Mark Palfreeman.
