History History
Formed in December 2002, AFC Bridgford was the brain child of Craig Gealy and David Bratton.
After the first month of training it was clear Bridgford would flourish with having over 20 people come down every week forcing Bridgford to move training to Beeston Hockey Club for bigger pitch's.

In February Bridgford got their fist chance to play beating Merriment 5-4 they played several more friendly match's before their first season in 2003-04 started, only losing 1 of them.

Bridgfords first season was more than interesting, finishing in a very respectable fifth place, and with this they decided to form a reserve side, as they still had more players then positions. What this meant was they automatically won promotion to division 2 allowing the 2nd team to enter in division 3 in the Tony meaden who had to resign due to time restraints to be replaced by Adam Taylor for season 2004-05.

Again the first team finished in a respectable fifth place while the reserve team ended their first season in ninth. this would be the last time Bridgford would have a team in the last tier of the Nottinghamshire Combination League as with the season before Bridgford did not stand still moving the first team in to Saturday football, joining the Notts Amateur Alliance Football League in 2005-06. the 2nd team then moved to the 2nd division.

Both teams seemed to get stronger with the change the Saturday team ended the season in forth place their best ever position, while the Sunday side finished again in ninth. But things got much better in the 2006-07 season with the Saturday side reaching the clubs first final only to lose out to Nuthall FC in The Notts Amateur Alliance League Junior Cup, while the Sunday side under the guidance of Steve Pearce reached their highest finish of forth.

Bridgford Saturday get promoted to division 1 in the 2007-08 season and Craig Gealy takes over the Sunday side on a temporary basis with Steve Pearce due to have an addition to his family. David Bratton must have felt this was his best season as a manager with the standard of Football being a lot stronger he guided his Bridgford side to a seventh place finish while Craig Gealy got the Sunday side promoted to division 1 finishing in fifth place. This was also the year AFC Bridgford celebrated their 5th anniversary. holding an old boys Vs new boys game at Carlton Towns ground.
