It will feel a little like déjà vu as the Rams take on Chessington & Hook United tonight in a repeat of Friday’s FA Vase game.

This time it is the RPM Records Division One Cup that is the prize. After last Friday’s disappointing 0-3 defeat in a game played at Colliers Wood United it is now back to Chalky Lane to look for some revenge. Manager Antony Williams will be looking to make a few changes with one or two players carrying injuries and other squad players in need of game time.

Last season the Rams went out of the competition at the quarter-final stage to Staines Lammas having won the Cup the previous year. Chessington will compete in the competition for the first time since being relegated from the Premier Division last season. Today’s match will be played to a finish with penalties deciding the fixture if it ends in a draw.

The weather is expected to be mainly sunny and bright all day although there is a chance of a shower in the early evening. These should be cleared by the time of kick-off with a clear sky and temperatures around 9 degrees.

Elsewhere in the competition Ash United host Sandhurst Town, Cobham take on CB Hounslow United and Staines Lammas entertain Sheerwater all vying for a place in the Quarter-Finals. The other 4 ties take place on Saturday 18th October when Alton Town play Banstead Athletic, Eversley & California play Epsom Athletic, Farleigh Rovers host Bedfont & Feltham and Worcester Park play Dorking.

Getting to Chalky Lane for tonight’s game can be by train to Chessington South and then a 10 minute walk down Leatherhead Lane with Chalky Lane on the left. From the A3 southbound, join the A243 at the Hook Underpass toward Leatherhead. Travel down toward Chessington World of Adventures that you will see on the right. Chalky Lane is just a bit further on the left.
