An even earlier start tomorrow as the Rams welcome Lewisham Borough (Community) to The Mayfield Stadium in the 2nd Round London Senior Trophy tie.

Lewisham Borough (Community) have had a difficult season so far in the league and currently sit in 15th place. They have had to change their management team and no doubt they will be looking to tighten up the defence that has conceded 50 goals in their 15 games so far. However, Cup football can be an opportunity to put league form behind them so it promises to be an interesting encounter between neighbouring south London boroughs!

The Rams management will be looking carefully at their squad and know that this could be an opportunity for some squad players to show their worth in the starting line up as they look to rest a few players who have been carrying knocks and injuries. It is going to be a crucial period over Christmas and he will want everyone fit. Having done similar in our Division One Cup tie earlier in the season they gave themselves a selection headache for the following week.

If the match ends in a draw after 90 minutes then it will be straight to penalty kicks to decide the winner and who takes on either South Kilburn or Club Langley in the Quarter-Finals.

After a clear night and temperatures close to freezing it will be a sunny matchday ahead. By kick-off it is likely that the thermometer will have hit just 4 degrees with a light westerly breeze. That sounds like the perfect weather to invest in a new Rams scarf as well as enjoying Bev’s fine fayre of hot drinks and snacks.

Despite the Rams being in Cup action there are still 6 Division One ties scheduled to take place. Top of the table Farleigh Rovers could extend their lead further with a win over Chessington & Hook United whilst Worcester Park entertain Sandhurst Town. Banstead Athletic aren’t playing but Bedfont & Feltham entertain Eversley & California and Ash United play host to Dorking. Sheerwater travel to Alton Town and Epsom Athletic are due to take on Staines Lammas whose recent run of good form has had a bit of a set back with a couple of draws.
