Monday Night Football and the Rams travel to play Abbey Rangers in the Surrey Senior Cup at their Addlestone Moor Ground tonight.

Abbey Rangers ply their trade in the Combined Counties League Premier Division having been promoted at their first attempt last season by finishing 3rd in Division One.    In their first season at Step 5 they currently sit in 15th place with 14 points from their opening 14 games.   They have won one of their last 5 games and drawn two.   This is their first season in the Surrey Senior Cup.

Like Abbey Rangers, the Rams are making their debut in the Surrey Senior Cup.   Back to back defeats for Kevin Rayner have dented an otherwise good start to the season.   The Rams are still top of the league but an early exit from the Kent Senior Trophy on Saturday was both a disappointing result and a disappointing performance.

Getting to Addlestone Moor is a straightforward journey by car although an eye must always be on the traffic reports.   From Croydon take the M25 clockwise and leave at junction 11.   Turn right at the roundabout onto the A317.   After a quarter of a mile at the next roundabout take the second exit which takes you onto Addlestone Moor and you will see the ground on the left after 50 yards or so.   By train the nearest station is Addlestone and from there it is about a 20 minute walk.

No rain is forecast for the area tonight and there will be some clear skies too.   The south westerly breeze will ensure that temperatures don’t fall too far.

There will have to be a winner from tonight’s game and if the scores are level after 90 minutes then a penalty shoot-out will decide who takes on Chertsey Town in the next round.
