A game that built to a crescendo of excitement saw the Rams come back from 0-3 down to secure a point.
It would have been difficult to foresee the final outcome as the game built into a dramatic climax.
The opening 45 minutes had little of note with few chances. In particular the Rams were struggling to create a clear opportunity in front of goal. Both sides went into the break with little idea of what was to come in the second period.
Just 12 minutes into the half it was Crowborough who broke the deadlock. The referee gave a free kick for reasons only he will know and from the resulting restart the visitors put together a quick move down the right and slipped the ball home to give them the lead. Four minutes later they had doubled their lead with a slick move and good finish. On 73 minutes they scored the best goal of the game with a great strike from the edge of the area and to score a third and secure a win with just over 15 minutes to go. But, as the saying goes, football is a funny old game.
Substitute Jonathan Paoluccio had only been on 3 minutes when he used his trickery in the box to force the ball home and to score his third of the season and first in the league. It sparked a change in play as suddenly the visitors were on the back foot and the Rams had decided to turn up and play. On 82 minutes it was Paoluccio again scoring his second and forcing the ball over the line.
It was now one way traffic and Crowborough were desperately trying to hold on to their lead. But it was another substitute, Bankole Koroma, who completed the comeback and forced the ball over the line 2 minutes into stoppage time to draw level. The momentum was now all with the Rams but the time was running out and the referee blew the final whistle with the score all square. A result that almost felt like win for one side and a defeat for the other despite sharing the points. Time now to breath before moving on to the next game.
