AFC Emley currently play in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League (NCEL) Division One. This is a Step 6 league in the National League System (Step 1 is the re-named National League). A regionalised league, we play teams across Yorkshire, Humberside, Derbyshire, North Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. At the end of most seasons the top two sides in the league are promoted to the NCEL Premier.
Each season we enter the FA Cup, FA Vase, NCEL League Cup and the Sheffield and Hallamshire Senior Challenge Cup.
As well as our first team, we have a Development Squad (that's the reserves to most people) who play in the Lancashire League (East) and an Under 19's side in the Northern Alliance.
The Fantastic Media Welfare Ground is our home which we share with the village cricket team.
To find the club, once in Emley, you're looking for the distinct white cross on the T junction of the two main roads in and out of the village. There is a tight entrance directly opposite - any car or 4x4 should get through but mini-buses and bigger will need to take great care. Turn left at the end of this short lane to access the car park. The car park is free and is a mix of hard standing and grass.
Except on the rarest of occasions, tickets are always on sale on the gate. We operate cash only across the site. Entry fees change slightly depending on the competition (competition rules often dictate a minimum price for each round) but we are always affordable. Admission prices for 2016/17 are £5.00, £3.00 concessions, Under 13s are free but must be accompanied by an adult. Concession rate applies to young people aged 13-16, those in full-time education (student ID must be shown) and those aged over 60.
Prices are subject to change for cup games as per competition rules. The price is the same regardless of whether or wherever you would like to stand or sit. Programmes cost £1.00 in season 2016/17.
New for 2016/17 we have a special value ticket that includes entry, programme, raffle ticket, hot drink and any hot food menu item. Available for advance purchase only, it is priced at just £10. This is only available for first team league fixtures.
Our Development Squad and Under 19s also play their home fixtures at the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground, mainly on Monday evenings. Entry is only £2 (Under 13s free with an adult) and is free to club members (except some cup games)
On entry through the turnstile, the building on your left houses the club office, changing rooms and sports bar. The newly renovated Sports Bar serves alcohol and soft drinks, crisps and chocolate. There are also male and female toilets (Lads and Wags!). Our range of merchandise, souvenirs and club clothing is on display in the bar - please enquire at the bar to purchase or shop online at our club web shop.
The main stand has toilets to the rear - including disabled. On the far end of the stand, behind the dug-outs, is the snack bar serving hot food and hot or cold drinks.
You can read all about the history of AFC Emley here. Whilst we have strong connections to the 'original' Emley AFC, we were formed only in 2005.
The club is run a team of volunteers organised by a committee and headed by a President, Chairman, Vice-chairman, Treasurer and Secretary.
We rely on money from entrance fees, memberships (similar to a season ticket), sponsorship, merchandise sales, bar/cafe takings and the small pots of prize money to finance the club.
What is the #emleyfamily?
We are a small club with very little money but what we can do, we try to do well and do "the right way". On the playing side our vision is to develop the best local talent who want to succeed for the club and community we serve. The emphasis is on development of players who want to succeed for OUR club. This vision is underpinned, on and off the pitch, by the values of communication, respect, responsibility and solidarity.
To that end we pride ourselves on being welcoming to all fans - including families - whether supporting Emley or our opponents.
We are working to make as many areas as possible of the club accessible to wheelchair users. We have a small number of car parking spaces close to the club entrance. If possible, please contact us so we can reserve you a space if required.
If you have any further questions, want to know more or would like to help in whatever way, please get in touch.
