After a solid March where they lost just one game in five, AFC Emley’s form has begun to slump as the 2017/2018 season reaches its climax, they’ve suffered three defeats in a row. The home side will be looking to snap their losing streak when they host Rossington Main this Saturday.
The last time these two teams faced off on November 11th 2017, , Rossington Main were 2-0 victors, thanks to first half goals from Leon Cusworth and Andrew McCreadie.
This week’s player to watch for the hosts is Curtis Roberts. Emley have failed to score in their last three games, however, in the last three games Emley did score in, Roberts found himself on the score sheet twice. He is a proven goal scoring threat and will look to bolster his goal tally for the season this weekend.
Rossington Main currently sit one point and one position behind Emley in the table, and an away win this weekend would see them move above Emley in the table. However, Rossington are in a slump themselves.
Since registering back to back wins, they have lost four games in a row, conceding 12 goals in their last two fixtures in the process. A leaky defense is something Emley will look to take advantage of.
Rossington's player to watch this week is Jason Stokes. with 11 goals to his name this season, he poses a legitimate threat in front of goal, and will be hoping to add to his tally, he is a player Emley should be wary of.
Both teams are in a bad run of form and will be looking to get a positive result at the expense of each other in what should be a very competitive game.
