AFC Emley will welcome Swallownest to the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground this weekend, in their 3rd of 4 home games in a row.
Both teams are level on points with 43 a piece, however Emley sit above Swallownest with a better goal difference. A win for the home side will move them three points clear of their opponents, a win for the away side will have them leap frogging this weekend’s host in the table.
After a 2-0 defeat to Nostell Miners Warfare, Emley will be looking to bounce back with a victory. The last time these two teams met in the reverse fixture on October 14th, Emley ran riot, putting the home side to the sword in a 7-1 win, thanks to a Tabby Magida hattrick. The Piwets will be looking for a similar performance, and to do the double over Swallownest.
With this weekend’s game being their third game in a week, and a fourth game in 11 days on the horizon, Manager Joe Howson may look to make changes in order to keep the squad fit and rested.
Swallownest are coming off a defeat themselves, after going down 2-1 away to Dronfield Town, they will also be looking to turn things around quickly, and will be aiming for a first away win since January. They will be hoping an away win this weekend will ignite a good run of form, especially with three home games in a row coming up.
Lloyd Gelsthorpe is starting to find form, scoring in Swallownest’s last two games, he will look to make it three goals in three games this weekend.
