AFC Emley slumped to a 2-0 defeat away to promotion rivals Clipstone FC on Saturday.

Emley traveled to the Nottinghamshire club with intentions of extending their unbeaten start to the season but fell victim of two goals inside one minute.

Matty Ord netted on the 51st minute and then immediately from the re-start the forward scored again, doubling the home side’s lead.

Emley were given a glimmer of hope after Clipstone’s Callum Mawby saw red with 30 minutes remaining, but Darren Hepworth’s team failed to take advantage and ultimately suffered their first defeat of the season.

Meanwhile, Joe Howson’s Development Squad claimed a resounding 7-0 win away to Silsden on Thursday night.

After a goalless first half the youngsters – with first team manager Darren Hepworth in the stands - upped their performance in the second period by netting all seven of their goals.

It was a terrific second half display and Howson will now hope his side can showcase such lethal finishing when they face Thackley at the Welfare Ground later this week.
