Goal hungry Emley go toe to toe with FC Bolsover.

The goals have all dried up for Emley in the last two games, and Joe Howson will be eager to see the the oppositions net ripple in todays fixture against 18th place FC Bolsover.

Travelling from Chesterfield, Bolsover were founded in 2016, and were promoted to the NCEL in their inaugural season- the first ever team to do so. In October they departed with manager Andy Bridgewater who was enjoying some impressive form in the early stages of the season. The reigns were passed on to Dean Ledger, who has struggled to regenerate the sides early success having only won 1 game in his 7 in charge.

They prove to be an immense test for a goal deprived Emley, Bolsover have the joint best defensive record in the Bottom 12 of the Northern Counties East League. Howson will want to spark an improvement in from in the next two games, which come against teams lower in the table, in an effort to go into the final game of the month against top of the league Knaresborough with momentum in their boots.

Emley’s woes have stemmed from the amount of injuries they have been dealt. The starting 11 is constantly changing and players are having to adapt to new positions, thus the pace and impressive flow fans witnessed throughout the start of the campaign has been hindered. Injecting confidence into his squad will be Howson’s key to a resurgence in results.

Belief and unity going forward will be crucial in breaking down FC Bolsover and getting back into a goal scoring routine. 3 points will be the boost in morale the boys in Burgundy need to get the right results over a long, cold winter period.
