Emley relying on support to boost automatic promotion hopes, plus information on rivals' fixtures

AFC Emley are rallying supporters to buoy the Pewits onto success in their final five games of the season after tonight's tie with Dronfield Town.

Emley are currently 2nd in the Northern Counties East League Division One table, but that final place for automatic promotion will soon be accommodated by Hall Road Rangers, who await being awarded 3 points after Shirebrook Town failed to complete a game earlier in the season.

Attendances north of 180 at the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground have driven the promotion push, according to Darren Hepworth, and now he needs them more than ever.

After last season's play-off final heartbreak, losing the penalty shootout to Bottesford Town, Hepworth is desperate to steer clear of the hard way.

Hopes of automatic promotion will be boosted if table toppers Pontefract Collieries can take points from Hall Road on Saturday, but there's no room for error from Emley in their remaining five matches after tonight.

The final furlong begins with a tough home tester against play-off chasing Knaresborough Town on Saturday (3.00pm) at the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground.

Ashley Flynn's last gasp equaliser earned Emley a point in the reverse fixture earlier in the season.

Then, the Pewits travel to Barnsley on Saturday 25th October (3.00pm) to face relegation-fighting Worsborough Bridge Athletic, who Emley thrashed 6-0 at home in November.

The away fixture against Selby Town on Saturday 8th April (3.00pm) is sandwiched by two crucial home matches against Shirebrook (Saturday 1st April - 3.00pm) and Glasshoughton Welfare (Saturday 15th April - 3.00pm).

The Glasshoughton meeting could determine Emley's destiny on the final day of the season - will it be automatic promotion or the play-offs? Be at the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground to find out!

Other fixtures that die-hard Emley supporters may fancy taking the trip to are Pontefract's Friday night trip to Manse Lane to face Knaresborough Town (Friday 14th April - 5.30pm) and the Collieries' final match of the season at Worsborough (Saturday 22nd April - 3.00pm), when the Pewits do not play.

Alternatively, Hall Road are in Bradford to face play-off hopefuls Campion (Saturday 22nd April - 3.00pm) on the final day.
