Club Reporter Hisham Riordan previews Emleys upcoming away game.
AFC Emley are the visitors to high fliers Grimsby Borough this weekend and will be looking to bounce back from last weeks 4-0 home defeat to Selby Town.
It has been a up and down run for Emley as of late, with two wins, two losses, and one draw in their last five league games. Lewis Dickinson is a man in form, having netted three times over those five games, and with 16 goals on the season, including one against Borough back in September. He will have his work cut out against a Borough defense that has kept an impressive 12 clean sheets so far this season.
A strong string of performances from defender Mikey Starks since coming back from injury has been encouraging for Emley, look for him to get forward down the wings, as he does so well.
Despite three losses in their last five games, Grimsby Borough are flying high in the league, sitting comfortably in third place, three points clear of fourth place with a game in hand. They were victorious when these two teams met earlier in the season and will look to do the double over Emley this weekend.
The home side have been lethal in front of goal this season scoring at will, with a plus 43 goal difference, and will look to increase that tally when they face an Emley defense who are without a clean sheet in in their last seven games. Daniel Trott is a player to keep an eye on this weekend, having scored 13 goals already this season, he will be looking to add to his tally.
