Despite setting the early pace AFC Hayes found themselves 2-0 down after 20 minutes to Tring.

Losing the ball just outside the visitors goal area allowed Tring to quickly move forward & after some slack defensive work Anthony Fields opened the scoring for Tring (0-1)

Things got even worse for AFC Hayes when after 20 minutes a poor defensive clearance fell kindly for David Whicker who gave Simon Grant in the home goal no chance with a superbly struck shot from outside the area.(0-2)

This seemed to galvanize the home side & within a minute MATT WOODS had halved the deficit with a shot from just inside the visitors area giving Underwood in the Tring goal no chance.(1-2)

Four minutes later AFC Hayes were level when after several goal attempts were blocked the ball fell for DANNY VINCENT to score.(2-2)

AFC Hayes were now looking to push forward & on 41 minutes Matt Woods
broke through but was impeded in the box & from the resultant penalty ROSS AHIR made it 3-2

After the break AFC Hayes gradually got on top with Woods hitting the post but with 10 minutes remaining MATT WOODS scored his second & AFC Hayes 4th to ensure the hosts progressed to the next round where they will meet Hendon on 17th September.
