Brook's poor run continues as they lose away to Sutton Common Rovers
After losing 2-1 away at Sutton Common Rovers the Brook's poor season continues as they slip to 19th in the league.
The Brook lost the 4th game in 7 starts as they were beaten 2-1 by Sutton Common Rovers but there was some positive points that came out of the game.
The Brook tried to play football on the difficult all-weather surface & never gave up trying to equalize after falling 2-0 behind after 55 minutes.
The 1st half was pretty even as the Brook tried to come to terms with the difficult all-weather surface.Although they tried to play football at times they were taking too many touches on a surface that required one touch, pass & go or the long ball option for which the Brook are not set up for.
The 2nd half started badly for the Brook as a long boot down the pitch saw SCR's Michael Campbell tussel with Austin Schofield & everyone, except the referee, clearly saw Campbell push the Brook defender & shoot past Kennedy.Schofield was booked for disputing the goal.
In the 55th minute the home side increased their lead after Kennedy had made a fine save only for the ball to rebound to Adam Allen who scored.2-0
The Brook continued to work hard to get back in the game & it seemed they had done so when on 58 minutes the Brook were awarded a penalty.Unfortunately the normally reliable Dan McDonnell fired the kick past the left hand post.
Although SCR were seeing more of the ball the Brook were causing problems with their breakaways & were rewarded in the 80th minute when Kildane Tesfu made a forceful run into the home area & shot past Bradshaw in the home goal for his 1st goal for the Brook.2-1
Despite several half chances the Brook were unable to grab an equalizer & the match ended with a 2-1 victory for the home side.
