A hard earned 3 points against 2nd bottom Raynes Park Vale secured "The Brook's" survival in the Premier Div
The Brook's recent run of good form continued against a hard working Raynes Park Vale side as they ran out 2-0 winners
The Brook's' recent run of good form continued on Saturday as they beat 2nd bottom Raynes Park Vale 2-0 securing their place in the CCL Premier Div.
However despite the result the performance left a lot to be desired as,especially in the 1st half the Brook's failure to adapt to the bumpy pitch allowed RPV to control possession.
Very little action took place in the 1st half but in the 10th minute a Josh Quadry cross found Rhys Rabbess but his shot slid past the post.
Both sides were finding the bumpy pitch difficult to play on but it was Raynes Park Vale who looked the more likely to break the deadlock.
However failing to take your opportunities, however few, usually means you're made to pay & on 45 minutes the Brook were awarded a corner & from the resultant kick the ball reached Mohammed Ahmadi who after scoring his debut goal for the Book against Windsor last Saturday fired home from 10 yards. To be truthful the ball took a slight deflection of Austin Schofield but was beating the RPV keeper anyway.H-T 1-0
At half-time Brook manager Sean Berry made a double substitution replacing goalscorer Ahmadi & Findlay with Nathanial Mensah & James Charles.
Although these changes improved the Brook's performance it was well below the previous 2 games.
A certain amount of good fortune led to the Brook's 2nd goal as in the 68th minute a long ball down the centre from Austin Schofield was chased by Nat Mensah & a RPV defender & as Davies in the visitors goal came out to claim the ball , the race was unfortunately won by the RPV defender who got his foot to the ball but could only prod it past his keeper for an OWN GOAL.2-0
The rest of the game was played out with neither side creating to many chances so it ended 2-0
