AFC Hayes improved League form continues with away win at Godalming.
Although the scoreline appears close "The Brook" 2-1 win at Godalming was much more comfortable than it looks.
Brook started game at a sprint as in 4th minute Spencer Maw made a fine run down the right wing & fired past Tom Wood in the Godalming goal.
Continuing their fast start in the 10th minute as Maw & Olaleye combined to put Ndvoi through but his shot wet over the bar and 2 minutes later Olaleye shot straight at Webb.
Still the Brook continued to push forward & in 17th minute Ndvoi had an opportunity but shot past the post.& on 20 minutes Kamil Kharas fired a free kick over the bar.
Godalming were slowly coming into the match & in the 30th minute Cameron Kennedy was forced into a fine save,5 minutes later it was the visitors Maw who shot from 25 yards only for Webb to push the ball for a corner & the last action of the 1st half saw Ndvoi hit the crossbar from a Carter pass.H-T 0-1
At the start of the 2nd half the Brook continued to mount pressure on the Godalming defence & just 1 minute into the half Spencer Maw's shot from 15 yards just cleared the crossbar.
As ever in football failure to take your chances can cost you & on 56 minutes the Brook almost paid the penalty as a home shot hit the post with Kennedy beaten.
However the Brook hit straight back & in the 58th minute Harry Carter scored the 2nd goal after good work by Kamil Kharas.0-2
The Brook looked comfortable & should have increased their lead but in the 89th minute a foul in the area by Charlie Howes saw the referee award Godalming a penalty. The kick was taken by Oldland who shot home.1-2
There was then a very tense couple of minutes as Godalming pushed forward looking for an equalizer & the Brook defending their now slender lead but finally the final whistle blew giving the Brook a 2-1 victory.
