AFC Hayes suffered their first league defeat of October as they lost 3-0 to a clinical CB Hounslow side at Farm Park.
Despite dominating large parts of the first half,Sirak Beyene opened the scoring for the visitors before two goals in the 2nd half from Thomas Kanek & Charlie McKee ensured that CB Hounslow went home with the points.
In blustery conditions,"The Brook" made their intentions clear from the start by keeping possession and applying pressure to the away side's back line.Isaac Olaleye was close to giving "The Brook" the lead within the opening minutes but was unable to control the ball inside the penalty area following a Dan McDonnell free kick.
With neither side able to impose themselves early on,CB Hounslow went close to scoring when Jordan Ireland dispossessed McDonnell inside his own half before playing in McKee but he was unable to get a shot at goal.Moments later it was the Brook who came close to scoring when Lusungu Ndvoi passing to Harry Carter who dragged his shot wide.
Against the run of play CB Hounslow opened the scoring on 20 minutes when Ireland won the ball in the middle of the park & passed to Sirak Beneye on the edge of the box who was allowed to advance into the area before slotting the ball past the helpless Callum Coulter.0-1.After opening the scoring CB Hounslow grew in confidence & in the 25th minute were unlucky not to increase their lead as a free kick taken by Thomas Kanek was met by Jack Watts but his header was cleared off the Brook goal line.
In the 32nd minute the visitors had another opportunity to add to their score as a cross into the Brook area wasn't dealt with but McKee's shot hit the post & was cleared. This let off spurred the Brook & from the clearance the Brook counterattacked & Mourad Jarraz was put through on goal. With only the keeper to beat he tried to round him but the visitors keeper Alex Wines dived to his right & palmed the ball away.Jarraz regained possession but his subsequent shot was wild & wide. With half-time approaching CB Hounslow had another chance when a Thomas Kanek freekick was headed back across goal but McKee shot over the bar from 8 yards.H-T 0-1
Within 2 minutes of the restart CB Hounslow had a chance to increase their lead as Kharas lost the ball on the edge of the penalty area to Ireland but his tame effort was easily saved by Callum Coulter in the home goal.On 51 minutes the Brook broke forward & Olaleye's pass found Jarraz on the edge of CB Hounslow's area but his shot was easily dealt with by Wines.
On the hour Coulter again came to the Brook's rescue as CB Hounslow's Ireland flicked on a header that found Beyene but his shot was well saved by the Brook keeper. In the 62nd minute the visitors were awarded a hotly disputed penalty when the Referee adjudged Ben Imre had brought down Beyene in the box.Kanek took the spot kick & comfortably put the ball past Coulter.0-2
CB Hounslow were by now dominating the game & a 3rd goal looked likely & on 70 minutes it duly arrived. An attack down the right saw the ball reach Roberts inside the penalty area, his shot was well saved by Coulter but the ball rebounded to McKee who headed into the goal.0-3.
To be fair to the Brook although losing 3-0 they continued attacking & in the 74th minute Ryan Dearden was fouled just outside the penalty area but Harry Carter's free kick was blocked & from the rebound Kamil Kharas fired his shot over the bar.
As the game was nearing the final whistle CB Hounslow had a couple of chances to add to their tally. In the 88th minute the home defence was beaten by a lofted pass but Terry Carter blasted the ball well over the bar & almost on full time the same player saw his shot from 6 yards well saved by Coulter. With the final whistle the Brook would have been disappointed with both the result & the performance.
After the game Brook Captain had this to say about today's game:"I thought we started the game well but with key players missing it was always going to be difficult. We could have played better but missing a crucial opportunity to score at 1-0 down,it would have been a different game.
We will go into next week's game at home to Sutton Common Rovers with the same mentality of winning the game & hopefully earn 3 points to improve our league position."
