Camberley scored the equalizer in the 87th minute to take a point against "The Brook"
The Brook draw game at home to Camberley Town after conceding an 87th minute equalizer.
If the Brook are to haul themselves out of trouble they really need to start winning games but on Saturday they threw away 2 points after conceding a late equalizer.
The early stages of the match saw Camberley Town,who started the day in 5th place, put the Brook defence under immediate pressure & on 10 minutes they had a free kick 25 yards out but the shot hit the home crossbar & James Charles cleared the rebound.
The Brook eased themselves into the game with both Mourad Jarraz & Haluna Masembe causing the Camberley defence problems but unable to open the scoring.
It was the visitors who came nearest to scoring when on 30 minutes the Brook Keeper Cameron Kennedy did well to turn a header round the post for a corner which was subsequently comfortably cleared.
The Brook started the 2nd half well & on 47 minutes were awarded a free kick out on the left which was taken by Dan McDonnell,the kick was met by Austin Schofield but his header went past the post.
On 52 minutes Camberley were awarded a penalty when a ball was played into the area & the Brook defence failed to clear but in attempting to make a clearance Charlie Howes was adjudged to have fouled a visiting player.Adam Francis took the kick for Camberley & shot past Kennedy in the home goal.0-1
This goal galvanized the Brook and they began to push for the equalizer which arrived in the 61st minute when the ball reached Harry Carter on the edge of the area but his shout rebounded to Haluna Masembe who fired home his first goal for the Brook.1-1
In the 65th minute the Brook were ahead when Mourad Jarraz received the ball just inside the Camberley half & he ran at the visitors defence beating 4 men before shooting past Kallum Lunn in the Camberley goal.2-1
The Brook continued to force the pace ?& on 70 minutes Dan Carter crossed to Dean McDonnell but his shot was high & wide.At this stage of the game Camberley were relying on counterattacks & on 75 minutes Cameron Kennedy made a fine save diving to his left to push the ball round the post for a corner which the Brook cleared.
As full time approached Camberley were having the better of the game as the Brook were unable to keep possession of the ball & on 87 minutes they equalized.The ball was played into the Brook area where the defence were unable to clear the ball which finally fell to Camberley's Adam Francis who fired home the equalizer.2-2
As the game ended the Brook were left ruing missed opportunities & although a draw against a top 6 side was deserved we really need to be winning games if we are to avoid a relegation dogfight at the end of the season.
