AFC Hayes continue improved form winning 2-0 at Farnham Town
The Brook travelled to Farnham Town on Saturday & returned home with all 3 points in a 2-0 win.
The Brook continued their improved form on Saturday when they travelled to Farnham Town and with goals from Spencer Maw & Harry Carter & returned home with a 2-0 win & 3 valuable points.
You could see how much this game meant to both sides as the opening 10 minutes saw them misplace passess & both looked very nervous.
It was the visitors who created the 1st meaningful shot when on 20 minutes Jordan Berry flicked the ball onto Mo Jarraz but his shot was comfortably saved by Adrian Giles in the Farnham goal.With the Brook beginning to dominate possession it was their Harry Carter who in the 24th minute shot from 20 yards out but again Giles was equal to the shot & made the save.
With the Brook pressing for the opening goal,a fine cross from Dean McDonnell out on the left saw Jarraz produce a spectacular looking overhead kick but once again Giles made a comfortable save,
10 minutes later the Brook finally broke through the stubborn Farnham defence when receiving the ball out on the left Mourad Jarraz drove to the goal line & pulled the ball back,finding Spencer Maw who had made a good run into the goal area & shot past Giles.1-0
This setback spurred the home side & Brook keeper Cameron Kennedy was forced to make a couple of fine saves from Thornton but the Brook defence superbly marshalled by Mesembe & Fosh dealt with most of the home attacks.
With half-time approaching a move down the Brook's right involving Jarraz & Dean McDonnell saw the latter play the ball inside to Carter but he shot wide of the goal.H-T 1-0
Farnham started the 2nd half looking much the better side,the Brook appeared to be asleep,& they again put the Brook under pressure.However excellent defending from the Brook defence & some wayward shooting prevented the home side equalizing.On 66 minutes Dean McDonnell,who had injured himself just prior to the interval,had to be replaced by Lusungu Ndovi and 4 minutes later the Brook increased their lead.
On 70 minutes Harry Carter received the ball 20 yards out & Farnham keeper Giles was unable to keep his hard hit shot out despite getting a hand to the ball,2-0
The last 20 minutes saw Farnham striving to get back into the match but the Brook comfortably kept them at bay.in the 83rd minute Mourad Jarraz was one - on - one with Giles but his shot was well blocked by the keeper.FT 2-0
