Brook & Curfews play out 1-1 draw
A draw was probably a fair result but didn't really help either side in their attempt to climb away from the relegation places.
The game started brightly with both sides seeking the all important 3 points & it was Chertsey who had the early opportunity when in the 20th minute Chertsey's No 9 Connor Cllen's shot was saved by Cameron Kennedy.
The next opportunity fell to the Brook as Stefan Powell let fly from 20 yards but Matt Carr saved comfortably.
In the 36th minute Ryan Phillips took a corner out on the right which looked like the keeper would collect comfortably unfortunately for Chertsey he failed to collect cleanly & the ball dropped into his own net.0-1
The Brook's lead didn't last very long as in the 43rd minute Connor Cullen shot through a melee of players past the unsighted Kennedy.1-1 H-T
The 2nd half was much of the same as although both sides wanted the win there was little composure & possession was lost to easily by both teams.
The best chance fell to the Brook in the 50th minute when Mourad Jarraz found himself 1 on 1 with the Chertsey keeper but hesitated allowing Carr to smother the shot.
The game appeared to be moving for draw when in the 87th minute the Brook had another opportunity when they had a free kick 25 yards out.Ryan Phillips took the kick but Carr saved Masembe's header.FT 1-1
