Late Horley goal condemns the Brook to another defeat.
Despite a new season the old flaws are still there to haunt the Brook.Mistakes at the back & lack of goals as they slide to another defeat.
The Brook started the match on the front foot & had 2 early opportunities to score but unfortunately they failed with both efforts.
The 1st chance fell to Sekani McCalmon when headed over the bar from a good cross from the left by Harry Bishop I the 5th minute.A minute later McCalmon had another opportunity but Horley keeper Hyde made the save.
Still the Brook pressed but lack of a goal scorer continued to cast a shadow. In the 12th minute a Harry Bishop free kick was headed over the bar by Matt Kaczmarek and another chance went begging on 19 minutes when Omar Hassan beat his marker but shot well over the bar.
Gradually Horley fought their way back into the match & Josh Bramwell in the home goal was called upon to make some fine saves to keep the visitors at bay.
The Brook's final opportunity of the 1st half again fell to McCalmon when he was put through on the keeper by a good pass from Jack Roper but he was unable to beat the keeper who saved the shot & cleared the ball upfield.HT 0-0
The Brook were forced to make a change at half time as the injured Harry Frost was replaced by Andrew Fairlie.
Horley were having the better of the early stages of the 2nd half & once more Bramwell was called upon to keep the score level.
The Brook continued to spurn chances & on 60 minutes Omar Hassan had his shot blocked but the ball fell for McCalmon whose shot was again blocked & went for a corner which was cleared.
With all the chances the Brook failed to capitalize on it seemed inevitable that Horley would score & on 78 minutes the Brook defence failed to cut out a through ball that reached Horley's Karl Parker who shot past the exposed Bramwell.0-1
In the remaining 12 minutes of the game the Brook tried gamely to get the equalizer but good defending & poor shooting meant the Brook were left empty handed.FT 0-1
