Kabamba debut goal helps AFC Hayes to comfortable victory away to North Greenford
Nicke Kabamba making his AFC Hayes debut after his recent transfer from Uxbridge opened the scoring against North Greenford helping AFC Haye to a comfortable win.
AFC travelled the short distance to North Greenford FC, aware that they have had some excellent results this year.
The opening minutes of the match was played at a high tempo with both teams pressing for an opening goal.
AFC Hayes scored in the 22nd minute, Romayne Thomas beat the full back and found Nicke Kabamba in the box who turned and shot powerfully into the net.
AFC Hayes extended their lead on 41 minutes when a well worked free kick found Charlie Goode unmarked on the far post, who headed home.0-2
Defending the lower goal in the second half AFC dropped a little deeper to draw North Greenford onto them to play on the break. The home side pressed strongly in the second half but their efforts were limited to long range shots or deliveries from set pieces, and the AFC HayesT defence held firm.
AFC always carried a threat on the counter attack and perhaps should have extended their lead earlier in the half but too many times the final pass went astray. AFC Hayes finally scored a 3rd goal in the 75th minute, Lee McManus broke clear down the left wing and his shot/cross was deflected into the North Greenford goal by a defender.
A very good performance by AFC Hayes with excellent performances by Lee McManus and Jerome Ecclestone.
