Last gasp equaliser spoils Wessex party.

AFC Keynsham continued their undefeated streak after Chris Freeman equalised with a dainty chip four minutes in to injury time to rescue a point at the Imperial Ground.

Relegation candidates Wessex Wanderers had taken the lead in the first half after a defensive mix had allowed a forward to run in on goal and notch.

The K's had otherwise dominated the game and were unfortunate not to have equalised earlier when a defender handled a goal bound shot either on the line or in the net, and the rebound was stuffed in as a penalty was being awarded. Typical of the way the day was going Chris Patch stepped up and blasted the penalty in to the goal keeper and then smashed the rebound up on to the underside of the bar. The K's coming away with nothing from an attack that saw them put the ball in twice and have a penalty.

It was Chris "Face" Freeman who managed to save the point as Wessex clocked off early when Patch headed a ball through to be chased. Face got there before the keeper and lobbed the ball over him much to the disgust of the crowd.

Even in those desperate circumstances the K's were left disappointed with their draw, Jamie Dooley was the man of the match, and Darren Wesson received a large pat on the back for stepping up to ref when the league official didn’t show up.
