Stoke Lane give K's the run around

Pre season beating for AFCK

AFC Keynsham were handed a preseason work out by Stoke Lane Athletic at Gypsy Patch Lane.

The Mighty K found themselves out classed in nearly every department by a side than was well drilled, in fantastic shape, and annoyingly talented.

Keynsham were given an early boost when they took the lead through Dave King, a bum call by the SLA keeper made his defenders leave Mark week's cross and King got in to flick past the keeper after 5 minutes.

Keynsham would not test the keeper again and we chasing shadows for the rest of the match.

Stoke Lane equalised through a long a great header from a deep cross, then took the lead when JP was caught with his hand in a bag of Quavers when a 40 yard shot cannoned against his cross bar and the rebound was powerfully dispatched.

The most disappointing goal was the third, a straight free header at the near post from a corner, K's have almost eradicated goals from set pieces and this one was a stinker.

In the second half Stoke Lane ripped through the K's on multiple occasions but fluffed their lines in front of goal until the last few minutes when a powerful finish snuck in the near post when a cross looked more likely.

The late goal added a nice little cherry on what was a massive Chelsea bun of a performance from Stoke Lane.
