Academy U9-15 travel to Bala and produce some excellent displays.

With the WPL season beginning, the Academy squads made the journey across North Wales to Bala for pre-season fixtures.

The U13 opened the days games and despite playing an U13/14 mix side they came away with a very creditable 3-3 draw. The U13 can take many positives from the game as they dominated possession for large parts and created a number of chances.

Kicking off on the first team ground were the U9 and U10. Both teams recorded comfortable victories, the U9 recording a 13-2 win and the U10 securing a 9-1 scoreline. Despite the nature of the scorelines, we were very pleased with the manner of the performances from both of these squads. They produced some excellent football and as a result scored some excellent goals.

The final foundation phase squad in action was the U11. They unfortunately couldn't hold on for a draw and lost 3-2, but there were a number of impressive performances throughout the game.

Nathan Nicholls U12 side continue to impress as they recored a 4-2 victory over the hosts. Meanwhile, the U14 were also back in action following saturdays fixture against Shrewsbury. They were comfortable 10-2 winners over an ever improving Bala side.

In the final game of the day, the U15 squad showed more signs of improvement as they lost 2-0 in an eventful game against Bala's U16 squad.

It was also very pleasing to note that there were a number of players and squads who played up in age groups against Bala. The performance of the boys suggested that they did not look out of place in doing this and this a credit to the players who were asked to do this.

Well done to all!!
