The two sides met in the first round of last years competition with Airbus coming out on top via a 3-2 victory. Following a goalless first period, the second half sprung into life early, as Bala scored within 2 minutes of the re-start. A Connor Littler brace put the wingmakers in front before a Rich Tomassen header seemed to put the tie to bed. However, a Ryan Jones free kick with five minutes left made for a nervy finish but it was the home side that hung on to set up a last eight tie against Flintshire rivals gap Connahs Quay.

This years tie was originally scheduled to be played in Bala on Wednesday 25 March, however to the condition of the Maes Tegid pitch both clubs have mutually agreed to switch the tie to Airbus.

In addition to this both clubs have also agreed to play the tie on MONDAY 23 MARCH with kick off pencilled in for 8pm*.
