Full round up of Coaches thought's on the Weekends games. Minis and Youth Sections.

Twelve P1-3s played at Lenzie today split into two mixed age teams.
Team 1
Oscar, Sam, Aly, Ben, Gillon and Aaron played against 2 Lenzie teams and also Hillhead. They were all evenly contested with Glens probably edging it in the scores. Five tries each for Oscar, Sam and Aly with some good runs from the younger boys.
Team 2
Marcus, Cameron McL, Adam R, Cameron F, Luke and Lewis played two Lenzie teams. Marcus scored five tries, Cameron McL four and Adam Reilly got one. Adam's tackling was really great and Luke got into the action too.
Great to see Lewis and Luke playing their first matches and well done to everyone who played today.

The P4s were back in action at a boggy Lenzie today with three matches. Apologies in advance for no photos but I had to referee two of the games! The team came away with three wins:
First a 10-6 win v Lenzie (it was 5-5 at HT) with scores for Dylan W, Matthew B, Lewis M and Heather W - not sure how many they scored each!!
Secondly a 14-5 win v Accies with scores for Matthew B (3), Dylan W (3), Heather W (3), Jack P (3) and Logan S (2). Very convincing win!
Finally a 10-3 win v Hills with Matthew, Jack, Dylan, Heather and Lewis all scoring.
What won us the games so convincingly was our tackling, everyone got stuck in and made excellent tackles which stopped the opposition and when they couldn't do the same, we have strong runners and good support to turn ball over and score.
Tackling heroes today were Dylan, M and Heather who consistently made crucial tackles, Dylan making more than one try saving ones.
Great effort again by all players and see you on Wednesday night for our first midweek P4 session!

Firstly the team of P5s (couple of P4s and P6s) were a credit to themselves, their parents and the club. A great bunch of boys with a great attitude and commitment. A pleasure for me to step up an age group to help out.
Group games v Dumfries ended in a draw 3-3 (Ewan scoring two and Kieran with the other), Cartha QP were dispatched 5-1 (Ruaridh with 3, Kieran and Mark also scoring), the final game was closer with a 3-1 win v Aberdeen Wanderers (Mark with two and Kieran again)
That took us into the final where we met a strong Perthshire side but we were not overawed with a 4-3 win with Mark scoring a great hat trick and Brodie with an excellent score.
Well done all, hopefully a great experience!

Great win for the S1s today (Allan Glens 17-16 Whitecraigs) in a game played in great spirit by both teams and some really good rugby played. Allan Glen's managed to snatch the victory in the last minute of the game with a great line break finished off with a try under the posts and the conversion to win it. Some of these boys hadn't even touched a rugby ball until Wednesday night and to come out on a Sunday a win a great game is amazing bring on Wednesdays training
Good weekend for the p5/6 team. After doing so well yesterday, the P5/6 team took on 3 p6 teams at Lenzie today and played really well. Think they were still half asleep in the 1st game and lost 4-0, but 2nd game was a tight affair, losing 3-2 and managed to finish on a high winning last game 2-0. Lots of good tackling, passing and running, and the p5s in the team did not look out of place playing against boys that were a year older.

The Team came out victors in a one sided match, great credit to Whitecraigs for battling hard, although Allan Glen's had too much power and pace today.
Sometimes you don't realise that these boys are only 13 & 14 the way the play the game, movement of the ball and power of carrying and running, great to watch.
Anyway well done to all the boys and parents for the support, back to training on Tuesday as we have some things to work on.

The U16s made it three wins from three with a 64-12 victory over a big Whitecraigs team. Ten tries from Colin (2), Ethan (2), Pete (2), Sam, Kyle R, Louis and Harry. Six conversions from Colin. Great performance, all did their jobs.
