Allan Glens 1XV played Garnock, on Saturday, in their league encounter. The visitors, with an indifferent start to the season with only one victory so far, were below Garnock in the table but a tight game was forecast.
Garnock kicked off and immediately attacked the Glen’s try line but good defending kept them at bay. After some concerted pressure, Garnock were awarded a penalty and moved ahead 3 – 0 after 10 minutes. A further try and conversion took the home side to a 10 – 0 lead. However, a penalty from Scott Thomson took the score line to 10-3 at half time. After the restart, a swift try and conversion levelled the scores. The final score of 16 – 26 denied the Garnock side a losing bonus point.
Allan Glens 2XV were unfortunately were well beaten by a good Carrick side. Glen’s started with 15 men and were down to 14 in the second half, after Bowhay (Senior) took a knock to the head. Despite this, showed great spirit and stuck to the task. Final score Allan Glens 7 – Carrick 111.

The U18 side took on Greenock, this weekend in a friendly fixture. It was great to see Craig Bowhay back for the weekend from Aberdeen.  Try of the match was from Fraser (Fra) Moore. From a scrum on the half way line Moore picked up ball at the base of the scrum and ran into a gap in the oppositions defence which led to him side stepping a number of players to score a wonderful try after running 50 metres. His mother was heard to scream, "That's my boy!" Final score AGRFC 29 – Greenock 7.
