Glen’s, with few changes in personnel from last week were like a different team on Saturday and gave what was probably their best display of the season.

Glen’s opened the scoring after only three minutes when Waterson barged through the defence to score near enough the posts for Thomson to convert. Keeping the scoreboard ticking over Glen’s, with considerable territorial advantage, added two penalties via Thomson before the break. The visitors, however, created three or four forward drives one of which resulted in McLeod touching down which Pratt easily converted making a half time score of 17 - 7.

After the break the home side continued to press hard and had again by far the territorial advantage. Shortly after the restart Murrell made ground, slipped the ball to Reilly who made the touch down. Thomson converted the difficult kick. With ten minutes to go Murrell again side stepped his opposite number to score between the posts giving Thomson an easy conversion.

In the last of injury time the visitors did break out and Diamond scored out on the left wing but it was too far out for Pratt to convert.

The foundation of this win was laid by hard work by the Glen’s forwards with Hearns outstanding but good back line defensive work from Reilly and McKeown kept the visitors at bay.
