"Nostalgia Day"

Who's up for a day at the club and the chance to watch a GUARANTEED victory over the Auld Enemy?

"They were the men who slow-marched into immortality, the players who defied insuperable odds to claim an unforgettable victory.

There had been Scottish grand slams before 1990 – in 1925 and 1984 – but never before had all the championship baubles been up for grabs on the same climactic afternoon. The victors would win not only the Calcutta Cup but also the championship, the Triple Crown and the Grand Slam.

The media hype in the build-up was unprecedented. The perception of English arrogance in assuming they simply had to turn-up to win was used as motivation.
Television pictures of English captain Will Carling telling his team that they were better than their opponents raised the hackles; tales of “England Grand Slam 1990” t-shirts and ties being on sale in Edinburgh before the game heightened the frenzy and when David Sole led the Scots on a slow, determined march out of the Murrayfield tunnel ahead of the game, emotions were at fever pitch.

“Flower of Scotland” has rarely been sung with such gusto and with such backing, the Scots tore into their opponents ............................. and the rest, as they say, is history!"

Anyone fancy reliving these emotions before the Scotland V England 6 Nations match on 4th February 2012?

We will be showing a re-run of that epic match in the Clubhouse starting at 2pm and will be serving some half time sustenance before the main event at 5pm. So come along and join us certain in the knowledge that you WILL be celebrating a Scotland victory over the Auld Enemy.

See you there.

Have you seen these?
