Alloa 2nd XV built on their recent excellent performance over at Grangemouth, despite having made numerous changes to their line-up.

They pushed Bannockburn all the way at Bluebellwood and drew favourable post-match comments from the home side who now sit at the top of the table.

Bannockburn hit Alloa early with two tries, however the twos created numerous chances in a first half where they more than matched Bannockburn. James Shaw’s try from a penalty move converted by Lee Cairney was the least they deserved from an excellent first 40 minutes.

The second half saw the home side run in a further two tries showing good offload in the tackle. Alloa, to their credit, came back again through a Mark Allan try again converted by Lee Cairney.

This was an excellent all round team performance from a side well led by Matt Allan. This Saturday sees the seconds host Glenrothes at Earlsfield with matches now having the earlier kick-off time of 2pm.
