Great time had by all on Sunday

On behalf of the Club, Bill Thompson and Dennis Hetherington welcomed our guest speaker, former Scotland and British Lions International, "Doddie" Weir to Greensfield where nearly one hundred and twenty players, members and friends gathered in expectation of an entertaining afternoon, and were not disappointed.

It didn't take long for Doddie to notice the slight height discrepancy between himself and Master of Ceremonies Paul Frater, but being the gentleman he is, Doddie tactfully chose to ignore it!

Doddie then regaled us with many amusing stories from his eventful career while taking the opportunity to make some observations of our more colourful members with the help of some inside information.

Following Doddie, our own Charlie Rutherford gave us some insights into dealing with weight problems and doctors visits, which amongst other stories, left everyone in hysterics.

Guest auctioneer Ben Johnston then completed the formal part of the afternoon by chairing a well supported charity auction with proceeds shared between the Tuberous Sclerosis Association, RVI Childrens' Ward and Parkinson's UK.
