Alnwick Town Juniors FC create their first girls football team

4 years ago By Paul Davidson

Alnwick Town Football Club is continuing its soccer coaching initiative within the local community to create a girls football team.

Alnwick Town Football Club is continuing its soccer coaching initiative within the local community to create a girls football team for ages between 7 and 12 years.

Alnwick Town Football Club is run by FA qualified football association coaches. Our aim is not for the children to jump straight into competitive football but to introduce and educate the children through the techniques, skills and eventually the game of football.

The ultimate goals are then to provide and enter a small sided team (7 a side) into the Northumberland Mini Soccer League which follows the FA’s “Blue Print” for young children to play football safely.

We intend that for the rest of the season and during the summer the children will experience the world of football through various individuals and group practices & games which will be appropriate and fun for this particular age group.

The sessions will be at Alnwick Town Football Club – Training would be on a Tuesday and the time would be 6.00pm for 1 hour. The date when this will start will be 4th November @ The Duchess High School . There will be a charge of £3 per week, this will cover winter training costs

I have over 15 years coaching experience, creating my own football club in Manchester with over 172 children still there playing the game. I have an Enhanced CRB and I am also being fully affiliated with the FA as a Level 2 coach with First Aid, Safeguarding Children & Age Appropriate level training.

Alnwick Town Football Club has a fantastic reputation within the local community and within Northumberland.

If you are interested in your child taking part in this new coaching initiative then please contact Mark Hedley on 07854 825183 as soon as possible as places are limited to a maximum of 16 players and I would expect these to be taken up very quickly.

Where next?

The Glendale League Good luck to all teams competing in the Glendale league this year. The league officially starts on Saturday at Wooler.
