Alsager Town stay rooted to the foot of the North West Counties League Premier Division table after their latest league defeat at Winsford United on Monday evening. Even at this early stage of the season, with only one point on the board from their seven games,a gap is already starting to form with those teams above them.
After a goalless first half the Bullets succumbed to a two goal salvo from Daniel Egan and Jack Nicholls midway through the second period, and with the home keeper rarely tested there was no way back. The best chance fell to striker John Main who missed the target when through on goal. Leaking goals at the back, and goal-shy in attack the prospects certainly don't look good for the Bullets at the moment and manager Will Ryder has plenty to ponder with some difficult fixtures on the horizon. The only glimmer of light so far has been in the FA Cup. With two victories in this season's competition, Alsager entertain Evo-stik Division 1 North side Burscough in the 1st Qualifying Round at Wood Park on Saturday afternoon. Kick off is at 3.00pm. Admission is £6 for adults, £3 concessions and under 12s free. All support will be most welcome.
